Welcome to my mental world. I’m a (struggling) follower of Jesus, husband of one wife, father of four daughters, and brother to more than I could possibly count. I also teach high school for a living.

In this blog you’ll see my ongoing learning process as I try to figure out what it means to be a Christian in the 21st century. Watch me as I attempt to draw inspiration from both the 1st and the 21st centuries simultaneously, mixing them together into crazy combinations that may never work. But hey, that’s part of the fun!

I write a lot about church, movies, family, philosophy, and pretty much whatever I have time to think about. Please drop a note every now and then so I know you’re reading!

Wandering around the web I came across “ChristInYAll” website and your link to your brief study/reflection on Galatians – “Free at Last”
It summed up so succinctly what has been coming to me about casting off the “layers” that have crept into our understanding of the way of Jesus.
It has been a journey driven by many things – one of them a sense that following Jesus and being in His church had to be much simpler than I was experiencing.
I have had many brothers and sisters on this journey past and present, via their writings and in the flesh: Wolfgang Simson, Watchman Nee, T Austin Sparks, Frank Viola, Paul Vieira, Wayne Jacobsen, Darin Hufford are some that come to mind – I note that I share many of them with you!

I have found “Free at Last” is a great little study that “gets to the guts” of the gospel and the heart our tendency to go back and pick up the “Works” thing, generally via the OT.

You even say “Feel free to steal anything I say ( copyright shmopyright )”! Thanks – that is appreciated.
I am planning to use it with few people I am connecting with who are really seeking to follow Jesus.
I’ll let you know how it goes.
I will probably work on ways to adapt it so we can work through it together – or rather let the good new of Freedom in Christ come to them in the way that they can connect with.

I’ve downloaded the e-book version of “Christ in Y’All”.
I’ve noted that when I looked at ordering a print of it there was no additional cost in sending it to Australia – is that correct? I don’t want you to be out of pocket.

Blessings on you – and all those connected to you.

We live in South Australia, share a property with another single person, have six adult children and 4 grand kids. The congregation we are part of was given the vision of being “A community in Christ, bringing Christ to the community”. That is a whole story in itself. The second bit is happening – we have most struggle with the first part!

    Thanks again
